About the author

IMG_6054Grant ‘Axe’ Rawlinson is an Adventurer, Author and Inspiring Speaker.  Born and bred in New Zealand, Grant has lead a lifetime of challenge and discovery.  From his journey as an international seven-aside-rugby player, to a mountaineer and adventurer challenging himself in the worlds greatest ranges and wilderness.  Grant balances adventure with a successful career in the corporate world,  leading and inspiring individuals and teams in their own journeys of transition and discovery.

Grant is a proponent of lightweight expeditions using very little support.  As well as climbing over 50 mountains around the world including virgin peaks in Kazakstan, the treacherous north ridge of Mt Everest located in Tibet and remote mountain ranges in Iran, Pakistan and Patagonia, Grant has made human powered ‘Peak to Peak’ journeys from the summit of the UK to France and the summit of the North Island of New Zealand to the summit of the South Island.  These expeditions were firsts and involved kayak crossings of the English Channel, the Cook Strait, cycling thousands of kilometres completely unsupported and scaling peaks from the base up.  He brings the messages that he practises in his adventure life through to his Inspiring Keynote Addresses, encouraging and motivating others to do more with less, to use resources creatively to achieve greater results, and to continually challenge and transition ourselves in order to grow.

Grant is now based in Singapore where he adventures and works from and can be contacted through his website http://www.axeoneverest.com
